Dedication
Statue
This
sculpture is of a woman who donated money to the temple of
Isis. The sculpture was found inside of the temple.
How is the
temple of Isis significant for understanding the world of Paul?
It shows that even women
participated in the bold public naming of their gifts.
For how Paul approaches the culture of named benefaction, go to
the Dedications at Delphi.
